Kwila is recognised internationally as the number one timber for outdoor furniture due to its durable nature.

Kwila is a sustainably resourced, naturally red pigmented timber that is used for all rhapsody products. When exposed to the outdoor environment and in particular wet or damp conditions Kwila will initially bleed this red pigment.

It is advised that the furniture be placed on grass or ground during this process to allow the bulk of the pigment to weather out. Hosing down the furniture thoroughly several times can speed up this process, which can take from a few weeks to several months depending on how much rainfall occurs.

Please be advised that this pigment may stain timber, concrete, tiles or other absorbent materials. No staining is permanent.

If staining occurs most can be removed by using a bleach based cleaner, however care must be exercised when using such products as they may affect certain surfaces particularly coloured concrete or tiles. Please test a small area first and follow the cleaner manufacturers instructions carefully.

REMEMBER THAT IF LEFT MOST STAINING WILL WEATHER OUT NATURALLY.

During the life of rhapsody products some movement or hairline cracks may
appear as the timber adjusts to its environment. This will not affect the integrity of the product and is an inherent characteristic of solid timber.

Fabrics used on Rhapsody chairs and umbrellas are 100% Acrylic Teflon® coated. These fabrics will not fade or rot, and contain special inhibitors that with regular care will prevent mildew. For correct care fabric should be cleaned regularly to remove excess dirt.

We recommend brushing off excessive dirt and rinsing with warm water. For cleaning use a mild natural soap solution in luke warm water (no more than 37 degrees Celcius). Rinse thoroughly to remove soap and allow to air dry. DO NOT use detergents on your fabric.

All rhapsody timber products have a coating of special oil to enhance the natural finish and protect against mildew. If left Kwila will weather to a silver grey. If you wish to retain the "new look" we recommend you allow the furniture to weather for a full season and use our rhapsody Care Pack to restore the colour. Ensuring the furniture is thoroughly clean before reapplying oil is critical to a satisfactory result. (Simply follow the Manufactures instructions on our Care Pack - available from your rhapsody stockist)

This will need to be done each season as required.
